The match between the Ansan Greeners and Chungbuk Cheongju was canceled due to bad weather and rescheduled for the next day.
The Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 Round 25 match between Ansan and Cheongju, Chungbuk, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on July 7 at Ansan Wah~ Stadium was canceled due to torrential rain and lightning strikes. The match will be held the following day (Aug. 8) at the same time and venue.
The rain started 30 minutes before kickoff and gradually became heavier. However, the kickoff seemed to go off without a hitch. Players from both teams entered the stadium as scheduled, greeted each other, and prepared for the game without a hitch.
Ansan, led by acting head coach Song Han-bok, started with Lee Hyun-gyu, Tiago, and Kim Bum-soo up front, with Choi Han-sol and Noh Kyung-ho in the middle. Kim Chae-woon and Lee Jun-hee were deployed on the flanks, while Jang Yoo-seob, Kim Jung-ho, and Ko Tae-gyu formed the back three defense. Lee Seung-bin wore the goalkeeping gloves.
Coach Choi Yoon-gyeom’s Cheongju started with Choi Jung-woon and Kim Do-hyun on the attacking line, while Peter, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Hong Won-jin formed the midfield. Park Jin-sung and Kim Myung-soon were on the flanks, while Park Geon, Lee Hansam, and Lee Jung-taek formed the defense. Park Daehan was in goal.
However, things changed when the lightning started to strike. Just before kickoff, lightning struck the stadium with thunder. For the safety of the players, the referees immediately ordered the players to withdraw, and the final decision to cancel and postpone the game was made at around 8:10 after 40 minutes.
The 12th-ranked Ansan (16 points) snapped a 12-match winless streak (two draws and 10 losses), including a nine-game losing streak, away to Gimpo FC on March 24. Since then, they have won two straight games, including a victory over Cheonan City, to turn things around.
Ninth-placed Cheongju (29 points) is looking to extend its winning streak. With an eight-match unbeaten streak (four wins and four draws), Cheongju will be looking for a win against Ansan to jumpstart their move up the table. They beat Ansan 3-0 in their first meeting on May 14. 파워볼
