Umpires in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) have held winter training sessions to familiarize themselves with the operation of the pitch clock and automated ball judgment system to be introduced in the 2024 season.”The umpires participated in the first winter training of the umpire committee at Doosan Bears Park in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, on Nov. 4,” the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) said on Nov. 7. “The umpires focused on stable game operation, including adapting to the use of walkie-talkies and earphones and familiarizing themselves with what to do in case of errors.” The umpires also trained in situational timer measurement and real-time umpire communication in relation to the pitch clock, which imposes a time limit on pitchers’ pitches.Given the electronic nature of both systems, the KBO also conducted simulated games to ensure that there were no delays due to equipment problems or communication errors.KBO President Heo Koo-yeon visited the training site on the sixth to listen to the umpires’ opinions and urged ABS operators to be prepared. The KBO umpires’ winter 슬롯게이밍 training will continue until the 8th.
