In addition to lectures that provide practical help in setting future career paths and life as athletes,
it will consist of mentoring sessions for younger athletes,
such as sharing experiences and know-how and one-point lessons by current national team seniors.
CJ, which has been carrying out social contribution through sports such as THE CJ CUP ‘Bridge Kids’ program that started in 2017,
decided to name the event ‘Locker Room’ in earnest last year and invited 40 promising middle and high school golfers to Haesley Nine Bridge in Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Team CJ’s Sungjae Lim (26) and Siwoo Kim (29),
gold medalists in the men’s golf team at the Hangzhou Asian Games and active players on the world stage, served as mentors.
This year, the event has been expanded from golf to swimming under the subtitle “Swim to Dream.”
CJ-sponsored Korean swimming star Hwang Sun-woo,
Paris Olympics 400m freestyle bronze medalist Kim Woo-min, Lee Ho-jun, Yang Jae-hoon,
Lee Yu-yeon, and other members of the men’s relay team who won gold medals at the Asian Games will all be participating.
They will not only provide one-point lessons, but will also hold various events with promising athletes,
such as relay matches, Q&A sessions, and swimming quizzes.
CJ invited a total of 25 elementary school athletes (grades 4-6) registered with the Korea Swimming Federation and their children and staff to this locker room event.
Applications were accepted through the Korea Swimming Federation’s official website from the 27th of last month to the 11th of this month,
and over 100 aspiring swimmers applied during the recruitment period.
CJ selected participants through a random draw among the applicants.
